MULTAN: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Saturday that criticism on judiciary should be avoided.
Addressing a press conference here at Railways Regional office, the minister said they had great respect for the Supreme Court. “Leadership of my party had struggled for the restoration of independent judiciary and underwent imprisonments,” he said, adding that he himself underwent imprisonment at Bahwalpur and Mianwali jails.
The PML-N leader said each and every decision of the judiciary should be accepted by everyone. He said that the elements who approached the court for resolving political issues were responsible for the current political situation in the country. He said all the institutions would have to work within their constitutional domains for the betterment of the country.
To a question about upcoming general elections, Khawaja said that an impartial caretaker setup would be brought in in consultation with not only leader of the opposition but also all political parties having representation in the parliament. “An impartial caretaker setup having confidence of all the political parties will ensure free and fair elections in the country,” he added. The minister claimed that PML-N would win the coming general elections on the basis of its performance. “People know very well that which party had delivered and who had done the politics of allegations and lies in last over four years,” he observed.
To another question regarding upcoming Senate elections, the minister said that some elements were trying to grab seats more than their quota but PML-N would achieve majority with the help of its like-minded parties. However, he opined, if some party takes seats more than its quota, their politics would be exposed on March 4 and ultimately it would badly affect them in the general elections.
