LAHORE: Architects paid tribute to Prof Pervaiz Vandal for his contribution to the field of architecture in the country, at the Pervaiz Vandal Award 2017 ceremony held at Alhamra Hall, on Friday
Speakers said that students taught by Pervaiz Vandal had gone on to become the backbone of construction industry in Pakistan. Addressing the ceremony, Pervaiz Vandal said that there could be no development in any sector of the country without a concrete architecture industry.
He said that it was the hard work of architects who made the ceremony possible in a befitting manner. He said that after the ceremony, an example had been set to appreciate the architects who do important work in their field.
Prominent architects including Prof Dr Suha Ozkan from Turkey, Rukshan Widyalankara from Sri Lanka, Prof Dr Gulzar Haider, Prof Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra, Prof Dr Rahat N Masood, Mushtaq Soofi and Asad IA Khan were awarded shields and shawls on the occasion.
Architects of different companies and students attended the ceremony. Ustad Hamid Ali Khan performed on the occasion.
