Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken another good initiative to provide modern technical education to the children of police employees, in continuation of which short technical courses have been started under the MOU between Punjab Police and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
According to details, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has started the latest technical courses for police employees and children of police martyrs. Lums University has released the schedule of more than 14 courses including Chat GPT, Digital Marketing, Graphic Designing and Mobile App Development. Other courses on the list include Advanced Microsoft Excel, Advertising Print, Outdoor and Digital, Brand Management, Content Marketing, SEO, Google Ad Fundamentals and Data Analytics etc.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that technical skills will be taught to the children of police employees in the modern training courses of 06 weeks duration and the fees of the children who complete the courses will be paid from the Punjab Police Welfare Fund. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the employment opportunities will become easier for the youth who complete modern training courses. IG Punjab said that MOUs have been signed with various reputed educational networks for higher education of children of police personnel under which every possible facility is being provided to the children of martyrs and police employees in getting education. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that more steps will be taken to support the talented, hardworking and position holder students of the constabulary from the Punjab Police Welfare Fund.
Separately, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that it is very important for young police officers to get experience in office management & administration along with practical field policing experience.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that the under training DSPs of Sindh Police will be briefed about the working of different branches of the Central Police Office and the working of various branches including welfare, discipline, finance, operations and investigation will be taught to them. IG Punjab said that after the training in CPO, Sindh police officers will be able to perform better in their professional career. He expressed these views while addressing under training DSPs of Sindh Police on the occasion of their visit to the Central Police Office.
According to the details, the under training DSPs of Sindh Police visited the Central Police Office and met IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar inquired about ongoing training, field experiences from the under-trained officers of Sindh Police. IG Punjab directed the DSPs of Sindh Police to complete the training with dedication and enthusiasm and should acquire knowledge and skills about all aspects of urban and rural policing during the training. IG Punjab further said that by effective use of modern technology, measures should be taken to suppress crimes and improve public service delivery. Under training DSPs apprised IG Punjab about the experiences and observations gained during the field training, also asked various questions. AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem and AIG Training Faisal Mukhtar and other officers were also present on the spot.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that driver constables are a very important part of the police force. They play an important role in the day-to-day policing duties, due to hard work and dedication of driver constables, police teams have successfully carried out several operations, arresting high-profile criminals. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to create a workable mechanism for the promotion of driver constables. IG Punjab said that like all other police units, driver constables are equally entitled to promotion, DIG Telecommunication, SSP Tele Transport and DIG Establishment jointly formulate the promotion strategy for driver constable. These views were expressed by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar while presiding over a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office.
A meeting was held at the Central Police Office regarding departmental promotion of Driver Constable. DIG Telecommunication Imran Ahmar, DIG Establishment-II Zeeshan Asghar and SSP Tele Transport Asad Sarfraz Khan attended the meeting. In the meeting, the departmental promotion of constables serving as drivers in Punjab Police was discussed. SSP Tele Transport Asad Sarfaraz Khan briefed IG Punjab about the available posts and existing promotion structure. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that driver constables who are eligible for promotion should be promoted to the next posts according to merit and seniority. The departmental promotion of driver constables will boost the morale of the entire fore.
