KASHMORE: Bandits continue to challenge the Police in the katcha area near the Kashmore district in Sindh, despite a police operation against the bandits entering its fourth consecutive day.
The Police launched the operation against the Nawab Jagirani gang on Monday after the band held four people hostage.
The operation involves nearly 400 policemen and a 100 police commandos, but the bandits are well equipped as well.
They attacked the police with heavy weapons which resulted in Station House Officer (SHO) Karampur Police Station Ali Hassan embracing martyrdom.
Although the police claim to have gunned down a few dacoits and destroying their hideouts, they are yet to achieve any significant success against the obstinate outlaws.
The Police operation is made all the more challenging because of the rugged terrain of the area.
